What we believe
|
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
1. We Believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired, faultless Word of God. ( 2 Timothy 3:16,17 / 2 Peter 1:20 )
2. We Believe that God is the Creator and All-powerful Ruler of the Universe ( Genesis 1 / John 1:3 / Colossians 1:16 / Hebrews 1:3 )
3. We Believe that God is triune, three distinct Persons in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit ( Deuteronomy 6:4 / Matthew 28:19,20 / John 17:20,21 )
- GOD THE FATHER
We believe in God the Father, the first Person of the Trinity, Who is ever-existing, Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One Who gave the Law, to Whom everything is subjected so that He may be all in all. ( Genesis 1:1 / Deuteronomy 6:4 / 1 Corinthians 15:28 )
- LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, Who is the Eternal Son of God, incarnated by being conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, miraculous ministry, substitutional redemptive death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension and constant intercession. ( Isaiah 7:14 / Hebrews 7:25,26 / 1 Peter 2:22 / Acts 1:9; 2:22; 10:38 / 1 Corinthians 15:4 / 2 Corinthians 5:21 )
- GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, Who goes out from the Father and the Son and is omnipresent, Who convicts the sinner, regenerates them (new birth) and sanctifies the person believing in the Truth. (John 15:26; 16:8-11 / 1 Peter 1:2 / Rom. 8:14-16)
4. We Believe that Christ died for our sins, was buried and raised on the third day, and appeared in His own Person to His disciples. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 / Romans 4:25)
5. We Believe that everyone who confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, will be saved. ( Romans 10:9,10 / Acts 2:21 / 1 John 2:12 )
6. We Believe in Jesus' bodily ascent into heaven, in His glorification, and personal, literal Second coming in the body for the Church. (John 14:2,3 / 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
7. We Believe in the necessity of water baptism so that Christ's command may be carried out. (Matthew 28:19 / Acts 2:36-39; 19:1-6)
8. We Believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit accompanied by speaking in tongues and all the gifts of the Spirit are for the Church today; through them God can manifest His power and bring glory to His Name. ( Luke 11:10-13 / Acts 1:1-5; 2:17-41 / 1 Corinthians 12:4-10 )
9. We Believe in the operation of the spiritual gifts as listed in 1 Corinthians 12-14 and manifested in the Early Church.
10. We Believe in the Spirit-filled life, in living set apart from the world and perfecting holiness out of reverence for God as an expression of the Christian faith. (Ephesians 5:18 / 2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1)
11. We Believe in the healing of the body by the power of God, also called "divine healing", in its varied forms, as practised in the Early Church. (Acts 4:30 / Romans 8:11 / 1 Corinthians 12:9 / James 5:14)
12. We Believe in driving out demons according to God's Word. (Mark 1:34; 16:17 / Luke 9:1)
13. We Believe in the Lord's Table for the believers, conventionally called "Communion" or "The Lord's Supper". (1 Corinthians 11:23-32)
14. We Believe in everlasting life for the believers (John 5:24; 3:16) and eternal judgement for the unbelievers. (Mark 9:43-48 / 2 Thessalonians 1:9 / Revelation 20:10-15)
15. We Believe in the reality of Satan's person, in his and his angels' eternal punishment. ( Matthew 25:41 / Revelation 20:10-15 )
