At the turn of year 2000 the church is left without a pastor and the Church board - the secretary Krassimir Asenov and Temenuga Blageva to be precise - took over the leadership temporarily until a new pastor is raised. Meanwhile, at the end of 1999 a family - Slavian & Rossy Stoyanovi together with their son Yoil (prophetically named after Joel) - arrives in Svishtov under God's guidance. They do a tremendous work that we could rightly call apostolic in laying fundamental scriptural truths like stones on Christ, the foundation. During this period the church experiences a revival.
This is a time when everybody is challenged to put to rights their lives of renewed committment to the Lord, a time when lots of people are baptized in the Holy Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12 are manifested in many believers, especially the gift of prophecy, prophetic dreams, visions and the gifts of healing. What is characteristic of this period is the flow of the Holy Spirit like an uninterrupted river that no one can stop, bringing inner transformation in each believer who is wholly immersed in this River of the Holy Spirit.
Seeking His guidance about the church's call and a pastor to take on the leadership, after praying and fasting and the Spirit's confirmation, the leading position is taken up by pastor Anatoly & Dessy Yankovi who returned home from service with their 4-year-old son Yoan two years earlier. Having endured a number of hardships working in the Lord's field and needing recuperation, they return to Svishtov where they are not involved in any ministry for a year. But God restores them and fills them up with His anointing.
The time when they start leading the church is turbulent: some people withdraw from the church and, disapproving of its new course, go to other churches. A few months later the pastor presents the vision for the church to the leaders, and further on to the entire local body.
Our goals are explicit and precise, the direction is onward and straight ahead in helping this generation to know Jesus as Lord.
Pastor Anatoly suggests that the ministry of the church be called "Hope for the Nations" because he believes that God has called this church to be a "healing center" - a place for restoring people who have experienced failures in their lives and marriages, a home for the forsaken, the orphans either in the flesh or in the spirit, for those young people with parents but lacking parental control, with fathers but without fatherhood - a church called to minister healing and deliverance to people, to build up relationships, to show the Father's love, to nurture and mentor in the Word of God and to form the "father-son" bond according to God's Word.
